This two and a half hour seminar will examine the three sections of the EAL examination paper, namely Listening Comprehension (Section A), Text Response (Section B), and Analysis of Language and Argument (Section C). We shall explore the range of short answer questions that may be asked for Sections A & C. We shall also examine the different types of essay questions that may be asked for Section B. We shall also discuss successful strategies for completing the extended written analysis of argument and language in Section C that many EAL students find challenging. We shall also review time management strategies for the three hour examination.
Overall, students will be given detailed, practical strategies to confidently enhance their existing skills and therefore maximise their potential EAL exam performance, and ATAR score.
