In this lecture we revise the VCAA Study Design for Specialist Mathematics.
Topics covered include: logic and proof techniques, coordinate geometry, trigonometric functions, algebra and complex numbers, vectors in 3 dimensions, including lines and planes and associated problems, calculus including applications of both differentiation and integration and problems involving surface area, arc length and volumes, differential equations and applications and probability and statistics. The lecture improves skills and abilities in problem-solving and reinforces and enhances your knowledge of the mathematical ideas and concepts required for Specialist Mathematics. The lecture provides preparation and especially includes many problems and worked examples from the new content of the revised syllabus. We will provide revision for the examinations, by working through short answer questions for Examination 1 and multiple choice and non-routine analysis questions for Examination 2. The use of CAS calculators and their use in Exam 2 is integrated in the lecture.
Overall, students will be given detailed, practical strategies to confidently enhance their skills and therefore maximise their potential exam performance, and therefore enhancing both their critically-important Specialist Maths Study Score and ATAR score.
This is a live, online lecture. Please note, due to Copyright we are unable to distribute recordings of lectures.
